The 4-Day Marangu Express Trek is a rapid Kilimanjaro itinerary for strong climbers seeking a fast summit attempt. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” Marangu is the only trail with hut accommodation, offering shelter and comfort while maintaining a demanding ascent schedule. Because of its short duration, this trek requires excellent fitness and prior hiking experience.
Begin trekking through rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m). Gentle trail and wildlife sightings possible.
Ascend through moorland with views of Mawenzi. Overnight at Horombo Hut (3,720m).
Cross alpine desert terrain to Kibo Hut (4,700m). Rest early before midnight summit push.
Midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak. After sunrise, descend via Horombo and Mandara to Marangu Gate, then transfer to Moshi.
This is a fast itinerary with limited acclimatization time, making it best suited for strong climbers.
Per person (example rate)
Final trek cost depends on group size. Larger groups receive lower per-person pricing because park fees, crew costs, and logistics are shared among climbers.
Marangu is the most established Kilimanjaro trail with clear paths, gradual slopes, and hut accommodation. It is ideal for climbers who prefer shelter instead of tents and want a direct, efficient ascent route.
Short itineraries have lower summit success rates than longer climbs because the body has less time to adapt to altitude. Our guides monitor oxygen levels, symptoms, and pace daily to ensure climber safety throughout the expedition.
