Day 2 — Mandara → Horombo

Hike across moorland landscapes with wide mountain views. Steady climb improves altitude adaptation.

Day 3 — Acclimatization Day

Short hikes toward Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi Saddle, then return to camp. This improves summit success and recovery.

Day 4 — Horombo → Kibo

Cross alpine desert terrain and reach high camp. Rest early before summit attempt.

Day 5 — Summit → Horombo

Why Choose the 6-Day Version?

Compared to shorter itineraries, this version dramatically improves acclimatization. The extra day helps your body adjust to altitude and reduces exhaustion before summit night, making it the best option for independent climbers who want both challenge and higher success rates.

Safety & Preparation

Because you carry your own equipment, preparation is essential. Train with weight before arrival, test gear, and practice multi-day hikes. Guides monitor health conditions daily and enforce descent if altitude symptoms appear.
