Detailed Itinerary

Day 0 — Arrival in Moshi

Meet our driver at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Evening briefing and gear check with your mountain guide. Overnight in Moshi.

Day 1 — Moshi → Nalemoru Gate → Simba Camp

Drive to Rongai (Nalemoru Gate) near the Kenya border. Trek through farmland and pine forest to Simba Camp (2,650m). Duration: 3–4 hours.

Day 2 — Simba Camp → Kikelewa Camp

Steady hike with scenic views of the Kenyan plains. Overnight at Kikelewa Camp (3,450m). Duration: 4–5 hours.

Day 3 — Kikelewa → Mawenzi Tarn Camp

Short but steep climb to Mawenzi Tarn (4,330m), beneath the jagged Mawenzi Peak. One of Kilimanjaro’s most dramatic camps. Duration: 3–4 hours.

Day 4 — Mawenzi Tarn → Kibo Hut

Traverse "The Saddle" lunar desert between Mawenzi and Kibo. Reach Kibo Hut (4,700m) and rest early for the midnight summit. Duration: 4–5 hours.

Day 5 — Summit Attempt → Uhuru Peak → Horombo Hut

Start at midnight towards Gilman’s Point (5,685m) and continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Descend to Kibo for breakfast, then continue to Horombo Hut (3,720m). Duration: 10–12 hours.

Day 6 — Horombo Hut → Marangu Gate → Moshi

Final rainforest descent to Marangu Gate. Collect your summit certificate and drive back to Moshi for celebration. Duration: 3–4 hours.
