Detailed Itinerary

Day 0 — Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Meet your guide for briefing and equipment check.

Day 1 — Moshi → Lemosho Gate → Mti Mkubwa Camp

Drive to Lemosho Gate (2,100m). Trek through rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820m).

Day 2 — Mti Mkubwa → Shira One Camp

Climb into moorland across Shira Plateau. Overnight at Shira 1 Camp (3,500m).

Day 3 — Shira One → Shira Two Camp

Easy walk to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m). Acclimatization and panoramic views of Kibo.

Day 4 — Shira Two → Lava Tower → Moir Hut

Ascend to Lava Tower (4,630m) for acclimatization, then descend to Moir Hut Camp (4,200m).

Day 5 — Moir Hut → Buffalo Camp

Traverse northern slopes, optional Lent Hills hike for acclimatization. Overnight at Buffalo Camp (4,020m).

Day 6 — Buffalo Camp → Third Cave Camp

Gentle ascent/descent along northern circuit. Afternoon rest at Third Cave Camp (3,900m).

Day 7 — Third Cave → School Hut

Short hike to School Hut (4,750m) to prepare for summit. Early dinner and rest.

Day 8 — Summit → Uhuru Peak → Barafu Camp

Midnight start for summit climb. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), then descend to Barafu Camp (4,600m) overnight.

Day 9 — Barafu → Mweka Gate → Moshi

Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Collect summit certificate and transfer to Moshi for rest and celebration.
