Arrive in Moshi, meet your mountain guide for pre-climb briefing, equipment check, and overnight rest. Early sleep is recommended; the trek begins tomorrow.
Drive to Rongai Gate (2,000m). Begin hiking through the forest and gentle slopes to Simba Camp (2,600m). Dinner and overnight.
Climb through open moorland with wide views of Kenya plains. Arrive at Kikelelwa Camp (3,650m). Short rest and dinner.
A beautiful, steep ascent to Mawenzi Tarn Hut (4,330m) beneath the spectacular Mawenzi Peak. Rest early — summit push approaches.
Cross the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo to reach Kibo Hut (4,700m). Light dinner and early sleep in preparation for midnight summit.
Begin the summit push around midnight. Reach Gilman’s Point, continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). After photos, descend via Marangu Route to Marangu Gate. Transfer to Moshi for a well-deserved rest.
The 5-Day Rongai Express Trek is designed for highly fit climbers seeking a rapid ascent with minimal acclimatization time. Not recommended for beginners.
