Drive to Rongai (Nalemoru Gate) on the northern side near the Kenya border. Begin trekking through farmland and pine forest before reaching Simba Camp (2,650m).
A steady hike with beautiful views of the Kenyan plains. Overnight at Kikelelwa Camp (3,450m). Excellent acclimatization day with light walking.
A short but steep climb to Mawenzi Tarn (4,330m), located beneath the jagged Mawenzi Peak. One of the most dramatic camps on Kilimanjaro.
Traverse the lunar desert known as "The Saddle" between Mawenzi and Kibo. Arrive at Kibo Hut (4,700m). Rest early to prepare for the midnight summit push.
Begin at midnight toward Gilman’s Point (5,685m). Shortly after, continue along the crater rim to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.
Descend back to Kibo for breakfast, then continue to Horombo Hut (3,720m) for a well-earned rest.
Descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. Collect your summit certificate and drive back to Moshi for your celebration dinner.
