Arrive in Moshi for briefing, gear check, and food packing. Ensure your backpack weight is manageable since you will carry everything yourself.
Drive to Rongai Gate (2,000m). Begin trekking through forest to Simba Camp (2,650m). Set up your own tent and prepare evening meal.
Hike steadily to Second Cave (3,450m). Continue to Kikelewa Camp (3,630m). Afternoon rest and hydration.
Steep but short climb to Mawenzi Tarn (4,330m). One of the most scenic locations on Kilimanjaro. Prepare your own meals and rest early.
Optional high-altitude hike toward Mawenzi Ridge. Return to camp for a second night to improve acclimatization.
Cross the vast alpine saddle to Kibo Hut (4,700m). Prepare your summit gear, eat early, and sleep early for the midnight ascent.
Start the summit push at midnight. Reach Gillman’s Point, then Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Descend back to Kibo, then continue to Horombo (3,720m).
Final descent through rainforest to Marangu Gate. Collect your certificate and drive back to Moshi for rest.
